Brantôme, the green Venice of Périgord

Surrounded by the arms of the Dronne, the town of Brantôme is an island. This special situation between stone and water has earned it the nickname of the ” Green Venice of the Périgord “. A magical destination, Brantôme offers postcard-perfect scenery and unique sites, such as the Benedictine abbey, a monastery originally built in troglodyte rock.

The course of the Dronne lends itself to canoe and gabare trips, as well as the spectacular nautical jousts that liven up summer evenings.
